Gary R. Stockbridge
Gary Stockbridge is the primary executive responsible for engaging in stakeholder relations with state and local officials, community leaders, and business, consumer, and nonprofit organizations within the Atlantic City Electric and Delmarva Power service areas. In that capacity, he plays a critical role in shaping policy and managing issues to deliver value to customers and key stakeholders. Atlantic City Electric an electric utility serving southern New Jersey, and Delmarva Power, an electric and gas utility serving Delaware and the rest of the Delmarva Peninsula, are subsidiaries of Pepco Holdings . Based in Washington, D.C., Pepco Holdings employs more than 4,600 people, owns more than $21 billion in assets and generates approximately $4.8 billion in annual revenues. Pepco Holdings serves 2 million customers as the parent company of Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power, and Pepco, an electric utility serving Washington, D.C., and suburban Maryland. Pepco Holdings is a recently acquired subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, one of the nation’s leading energy services companies. Exelon is headquartered in Chicago and trades on the NYSE under the ticker EXC.
Stockbridge worked in Philadelphia for PECO Energy for almost 15 years prior to moving to Delmarva Power in 1997 to run the competitive retail energy business, selling electricity and natural gas to customers in the northeastern United States. In 2000, he was promoted to vice president, Customer Care, in the regulated utility and remained in that position until 2005, when he was named president of the Delmarva Power region. In 2018 he had Atlantic City Electric added to his area of responsibility. Stockbridge, has more than 35 years of utility and energy experience.
Stockbridge is the board president for the Workforce Investment Board in Delaware; chairman of the board for the State Chamber of Commerce; chairman of the board of the Vision Coalition supporting education reform in Delaware; chairman of the advisory board for the Chesapeake Bay Council of the Girl Scouts; and chairman of the advisory board for Kingswood Community Center. He also serves as a board member for the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce, board member for ChooseNJ, and board member of the New Jersey Utilities Association, He is a member of the executive board for the Delaware Business Roundtable, and member of the REACH Riverside Board.
Stockbridge received his undergraduate degree in engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia and sits on Drexel’s Energy and Environment advisory board.
